Bordeaux wine production seems to have begun sometime after 43 AD, during the Roman occupation, when they established vineyards to cultivate wine for the soldiers. Now, that is an interesting concept……
sending the soldiers into battle warmed with a full-bodied red wine!
But, enough of history, let’s talk of the present. With wines from five premier Chateaux of Bordeaux, Peter Althaus, our host and pioneering sommelier & vintner, will lead us on a journey of education and entertainment, enlightening us with stories from the past as well as the present – on all things Bordeaux. Further adding to this sensory escape will be Australian violinist Peter Tanfield, who will provide accompaniment with his own inspired interpretations of works by Johan Sebastian Bach.
And, then there is the sense of taste – with seared “Petuna” Tasmanian ocean trout wrapped in pancetta, thyme butter & trout caviar; or maybe, the grilled Oakley Ranch Wagyu beef with leek & potato galettes, chanterelles & jus – all prepared with Karma Care by Executive Chef, Simon Blaby.
Five Chateaux, Five Courses, Five Senses –
Surrender and enjoy them all – you deserve it!
If your wish is for the night not to end…..then stay at Karma Kandara and enjoy all that is offered, including dinner for two and five-star service in a Luxury Pool Villa – US$870++ per couple.
